headphones

Everybody uses headphones. Well almost everybody because you donot advertise to all and sundry when you have detected a target. You can set a lower volume level which will give longer battery life. Using HPs enables you to hear very weak signals that would ordinarily not be heard from the less sensitive internal speaker.

Out in the gold fields some people donot use the headphones because they can be uncomfortable when they get hot from the sun. Also there is usually not many other people abut in the gold fields to hear when you have detected a target, therefore you can use the speaker and avoid the uncomfortability of the HPs, plus you will be able to hear what is going on around you and of course if there are rattlers in the area then you stand a better chance of hearing them.........Just before they bite you

Fisher hit most of the main reasons. And also some good times not to wear them. If you're in a safe area, they save battery life and allow you to hear subtle changes better.

I wouldn't want to detect without head phones. I can still hear what's going on around me and yes they do get hot and sweaty. I have actually heard a rattlesnake shaking his rattle in a lime sink near my house with the headphones on. Good thing there was no target under my coil, or I might have stepped on him. Never could locate him, but went out the opposite way from the sound.

I usually just hunt em down and smoke em , with a nice long club,I am not a fan of rattle snakes never have been, still VERMEN! and if you think they are good to have around let your children and pets play with them, a rattle snake will kill you because that is what they do!!! It is hard to give them space when you do not know they are there and the rattler kills one of your children!!! that does not work for me! rattler is in my area it will only be there once!!!
