Headphones

Hi all,

I just placed the order for my new V3i and opted not to get the wireless headphones. I'm looking for some advise or recommendations on a good pair of headphones for the V3i. I have an OK no name brand I am using with my MXT but6 I w0would like something better. PS my noggin size is large or medium/large

Any relies will be appreciated.

Thanks.................

you should have asked the dealer for a good discount on the koss e9000 whites headphones since you bought the V3i from him, he still may make a deal with you. they are comfortable just remember if they ever need repair call and send to Whites not Koss.

My favorite phones were the Rats, which are no longer made. I now have the Sunray Golds which are comfortable and sound good. I too have a large head. ROB

Sun Ray gold have been using them for 5 years :twodetecting::cheers:

For my last few detectors I've used the Grey Ghost's with separate volume controls (R+L) - Think they were for the Nautilus line of detectors. Now, that can be a pain in the A** if you touch those knobs when you take them off and put them on. BUT if you are going to hunt in Stereo Mixed Mode you should note there isn't a separate volume control on the V3i, so this type of headphone set would be perfect. Very very good sound quality I might add.

I too just order my V3i today but with the wireless (wanted to see what it feels like not messing with a cord ;) ). BUT I really love my Sun Ray Golds... Super quality and I really love the leather cuffs. I had the Koss and those are good also.

The Koss 9000 has a long way to go to beat the SunRay Golds IMHO.

I was using the Koss 9000 headphones with the V3 for a long time. The sound quality is excellent and the chord is long enough to put down the detector to dig and leave your headphones on.

They also carry a lifetime warranty.

Koss R80 with the model in which the cord can be disconnected from the headphones themselves (if you ever have a cord problem, just replace the cord for a couple of bucks). Since they are Koss, they carry a lifetime warranty (you pay I think about five or six bucks shipping fee for a factory re-do). These phones have incredible sound reproduction - especially gets those low grunts that can be a deep target. I've never tried Grey Ghost or the Sunray, but these are twenty times better than the KW Pro that Koss was producing for Whites....they are not as rugged, but the sound quality is worth the little bit of fragility. The wireless phones on the V3i are good ones, too, but I really think these R80s give better sound reproduction and every little bit helps. Best thing of all they're only about $50 direct from Koss... Remember, be sure to get the ones that have the plug-in replaceable cord.
