Recently i've stopped wearing my headphones and just looked at the readout and listened outloud for the tone. I guess i'm a afraid of somebody sneaking up behind me.
Does anybody else not use their headphones or do you recommed it all the time?

I have got to the point where I can't NOT wear headphones now (but I never wore them as a kid). But many do without, especially in hot summer months where your head can really sweat. They say you really eat battery power without headphones as well, & I really like to be able to hear all the little chirps...like a little faint high tone that may bleed though a bunch of iron. Background noice of cars, birds, etc, could make it hard to hear faint signals. But your right, my Killer B's block out all background noise & I have had people walk right up behind me & tap me on the shoulder Sometimes when we are afraid of being "ambushed" like this, we only cup one ear & put the other cup back behind the ear. They now make headphones with only 1 ear cup. You may wanna try those? Another idea is to get the really small "Walkman" style headphones. Since they don't cover the ear fully you will get to hear some outside stuff & not sweat in the summer. But speaking of suggestions, KIller B's are the loudest & the best! HH, Bill
