Headphones

I've had my mtx for about a month. Most of the locations I hunt are very trashy so noisy is a way life for me. My question is what is the best headphones for the mtx? Volume control seems to be must these days.

Greetings rock217, I have used the Black Widows for a good while now and have nothing but praise for them. I'm 58 and have some lose of hearing from years of shooting as well as a life time of working in a fabricating/machine shop. These give me a tone I hear well and ample volume. Pro Gold, Rat Phones are also top notch. Can't go wrong picking one of these three. I'm sure other high quality phones are as good but I don't have experience with the other brands.

rocky217, hi and congrats on getting yourself one of the best metaldetectors there is. I've had mine for 2 years(next month). I'm still learning itl But once you get the hang of it (IMHO) it's the best. I found over $400.00 last year in our only sports park here at home. (if you'd like read my story) in Feb." 09 ( the first story: KC FL.) I'm 74 yrs old and I'll second mr007s motion on the best headphones you can get IMO. Goodluck and happy hunting. :detecting: If you need help, just holler:happy: KC

Welcome to the wonderful MXT Forum. I've use the SunRay Pro Gold phones and love them. I wouldn't want any others. If you do a search on headphones on here, you'll get quite a few answers. There's many phones out there and maybe that would help your decision. Happy hunting, Nancy

Headphones are a personal choice. Nancy likes the SunRay Pro Gold and I like my Rats. Which ever ones you get it would be wise to try a pair before you buy. Comfort is very important and IMHO you need a limiter circuit on the phones with the MXT. It is one loud detector. With a good set of phones pinpointing a shallow target can be painful. Because of my hearing the Rats are better for me because it has more of the low range. You hearing may be different. All phones mentioned are good. Rob

Black Widows are my choice love that limiter switch keeps from blasting your ear drums out.
