Headphones ?

Jason in TN

New member
Are the head phones comforatable ? Do they fit tight enough to seal out outside wind and other noise. Look like they may be heavy.
Any info would be great. Thanks

Jason

They are a little heavier than normal 'phones because they have a circuit board and 2 AA batteries. But they are very comfortable and snug.

Jason, HP's are a little heavier yes, but very comfortable. I compare them to the White's / Koss E-9000 units as to comfort and coverage. I think you'll like the fit. When testing the unit, I've been out 4 + hours at a time and had no problems with comfort.

As soon as i get mine will try to help out here as much as possible. Want to get this detector out beach hunting this summer. Now if we could get a new bigfoot coil designed for it
I would really be a happy camper.

Any corded headphone with the 1/4 plug should work just fine. The Vision also has the built-in speaker as well.

Do the headphones have any limiting circuitry in them to prevent really loud surface coins or any other glitches in audio from giving you a jolt?

What is the battery life on the wireless headphones assuming 2 AA energizer or duracell alkalines and continuous use?

Is there a quick way to mute the audio from the headphones? On the DFX you can just press the menu button.

If you were on a group hunt, or a seeded competition hunt with XX number of vision users, how many channels would you have available before you started running into interference with other users?

Is the audio a digitized transmission or is it analog? If digitized, is it packetized like ethernet is... packets can be dropped if you start running into interference, but it still gets through instead of totally being clobbered. Analog would be more susceptible to being clobbered too.

You sure have a lot of questions Brett.....:punch:........That''s good though. One of the engineers will have to help me on those. It seems like the frequency offset has 10 channels/settings.

Sorry bout that... I figured I would just get them all out there and they can be answered in time :)

Jason,I've got good news for you.You can use the Big Foot thats designed for use with the DFX AS LONG AS YOU DON'T USE THE TURBO BOOST DEPTH INCREASE SWITCH.I read that on one of the forums. Norm

I also would like to know. I have not read any info about it.

My 1st impression is some more weight than what I been used to (Sun Ray Gold Pro & RATS), but after putting them on, they were comfortable. I like the soft pads and don't think the weight will cause any long hunt problems.
