Headphones that work with the CTX3030

When you plug in your headphones, do they shut off the external speaker on your CTX3030? If your make and model is not already listed, please post it here.

I prefer a pair of Sony earphones that sit loose in the ear with a piece that goes over the ear to hold them in place. They have a 1/8" plug so I use a 1/4"M to 1/8"F adapter. There is an all metal gold tone adapter i found on ebay that only protrudes about 1/2" from the detector that I like and the earphones work fine. When I plug them into the adapter the detector speaker goes quiet. I'm waiting for my wireless module (the dealer messed up and didn't send me the right package) but they work as they should plugged directly into the detector.

My Rats work just fine. It has a reversible cable with Stereo jack on one end, and Mono jack on the other. Mono jack in CTX, speaker shuts off.

http://www.minelab.com/__files/f/93182/KBA_21-1-CTX-3030-Audio-Options.pdf- this is the Minelab patch for the CTX 3030 headphones compatability problem. Hope this helps!
