Headphones problems

I was wondering if anybody ever has problems with there headphones. I use Garrett headphones and they worked good when I got them. It's my 2nd pair but the sound cuts in and out on the one side and crackles. It happened with both pairs after a couple months.. Would that be the machine going bad or do headphones just suck and go bad after a few months.

I had one pair do that and another pair that are still fine so I'm thinking maybe you just were unlucky enough to get 2 in a row. You might try wiggling the wires at either end and see if you can force the problem. If so, you might be able to repair them by cutting the wire and putting on a new plug or re- soldering it if the problem is at the ear cup end.

When I was using Garrett machines, I went thru 4 sets of Garrett headphones in a short period of time having the same problems of wires breaking. Very frustrating. My solution to this problem was to replace them with a quality pair of headphones. I now use White's detectors and use Grey Ghost Originals and the headphone problem is a thing of the past. I've got Ratphones on my MXT, Killer B's on my TDI, and Nugget Busters on my GMT. I like them all. I've not had any problems with any of them in 2 1/2 years. Dave
