Headphones & impedence

Hi folks, I am getting around to finally buying headphones for my White's 6000Di Pro SL. I picked this unit up a couple years ago from the original owner, who seldom used it except in his backyard!

So, from my audio, amps, pre-amps, electric guitar era I recall that to have optimum clarity of signal, you MUST match your impedence! Yeah, I know White's offers headphones and that's great, but I prefer to opt for a behind the head style, so I can still wear my "Digger" hat!

Therefore, question is ...
Does anyone know the impedence (in ohms) of the headphone jack?

Is impedence even a factor to consider?

Is it ok to just grab any 'ol headphones and go? I have some very good quality (high impedence) ear buds that I would really like to use too.

Any additional input/comment is welcome also!

Thanks,
Dave

At 150 ohms each element, this is about as good as it gets. http://www.sunraydetector.com/sun_ray_pro__headphones.htm

Well, you are about the umpteenth person that has told me about the Sun Ray Pro Gold headphones. I guess what I didn't realize was the need for a limiter feature, not found on standard headphones. DUH! That was the main reason I put off for this long getting any headphones at all. I tried some stereo versions briefly and some trash almost blew out my hearing! What's left anyhow!

Do any of ya'll have issues when trying to wear a hat in the hot summer days? I live in Oklahoma and it gets VERY hot and VERY humid here!

Thanks for the comments, all of you!
Dave

i am in S. Florida, so i hear ya.

i have a campaign style hat (the kind the vietnam war "popularized") that snaps up on the sides, so I still get shade fore and aft. I use that or a baseball cap. I i'm using whites "pro"phones. Stereo hifi phones that work on garrett and minelab do not work with my whites eagle spectrum, I can just barely sense some sound trying to get out. I'm guessing the impedance is wrong, but whether it needs higher or lower impedance phones, I'm not sure. I'm guessing the phones have to have higher impedance, since there's a lot more room to go up than down from the typical hifi headphone, which i guess is maybe 15 ohms generally?
