Headphones, GT, and hearing loss......

PappyInSC

So I've finally decided on the gt as my next detector. I've got a slight hearing loss from my days in the Navy. My question is what headphones are the best ones for me with the gt?

Thanks..

I have tried many different set as my hearing is real bad and I need the volume plus good tones quality. Mine is a high pitch hearing loss with 110% (total) on some of the very high pitch and I have maybe 40% of the rest of them. My hearing aids are the most powerfull you can get and behind the ear type so you know I have bad hearing. I find the Timberwolfs are the best for me as I can hear those faint signals of deep coins and have no problems detecting with them. I can not use my hearing aid with any headphones and yet the Timberwolfs seem to be loud enough for me. Now on my Explorer they are not loud enough and have to use the Troy Pros, but for the Sovereign the Timberwolf work the best for me.

I agree with Rick on the Timberwolf's. I also have a hearing loss due to working on jet engines in the Air Force for 4 years, and my hearing loss is also high tones. I have tried all of the major headphones and the Timberwolf's have worked out the best for my hearing.

Here in our hot humid climate in Florida, I switched to the lighter weight Cubs a few years ago, same great tone just not as hot as the larger Timberwolfs. Both are very comfortable and I wish I had kept the full size TW's for winter hunting, but the Cubs workout better here in the heat of Florida.
