Headphones for Excal II

Hi Everyone.

I just got a new Excal II and was wondering if it's worth replacing the stock headphones with aftermarket ones. Is there much difference between the stock phones vs. aftermarket (like the Gray Ghost for example)? My hearing is not the best and if there is a noticeable difference in sound definition and outside noise reduction, I would go with aftermarket. Is there a particular brand/model that is heads and tails above the rest?

Sorry if this question has been asked a thousand times. I did a search and nothing stood out.
 
I put the GG onto my Excal. The mod is pretty easy to do and they are much better. They stay on better, are more comfortable and I think because of that sound better. With the mod I did it will void your warranty though.
 
I bought the MGM headphones and they are great! Extremely loud and clear! Find out where to get them in Clive Clynick's book " Shoreline Treasure Hunting with the Excaliber: Methods and Applications" that's where I was first introduced to them, excellent book by the way. They are not cheap, but in my opinion well worth thr price. I have already found 6 very nice older rings as well a several chains deep down which I'm sure wouldn't have heard and found them without them.
