Ok folks which type of headphones you using..I am using the audio 200 and thinking of some
black widows or grey ghost , detector pro. are they much difference in the hi-end headphones vs the mid range
I have a F2 ordered for my dad and might give him my set and get a new set for the F75 anyone recommend
a set ..thanks james

I'm a little hard of hearing but the best that have worked for me have been the ratphones. Seems the t2 and the 75 could use just a tad more volume, but thats just me.

I agree RATPHONES are topnotch, lots of volume an tone, just switch end plugs around an they work with
every other FISHER i have [ 1266-1270] you won't be disappointed. By the way from my previous post,F75
is en-route an coming home, with a new small coil.

I'm using the Black Widows and, more often, the single ear Rattler also from Detector Pro. Both are top quality and excellent phones.

With the Black Widows on you are totally focused without most outside noise - for better or worse. I have looked up to find folks talking or hollering at me and been pretty well and truly startled.

wonm a set and found I liked them. Use then exclusively on the 75. Tried the shadow phones....and while I prefer then on the shadows.....they are much lower in tone than the B's,,, and its harder to hear the subtle differences in iffy targets. The higher tone B's sound better on the 75.

Charlie I took a look at the Black widows.wow they look sweet and have good spec..so does the killer bees..I think the rattlers
with 1 ear would be strange to me..I like the idea OF HEARING THE DETECTOR..I seem to hunt in fields and woods most of the time..
I know one thing I want a long cord for sure..thanks folks I will try to decide soon..

I've been married almost 28 years and am an expert at listening with only one ear. ;)

It's good to have the options of either. There are no rattlesnakes hereabouts but in some parks I like to be able to keep an ear to the environment.

Some snakes walk on two legs.

And about mid July it gets darned hot on my noon hunts with those black Black Widows in the mid-day sun. The Rattler is at least 50% cooler. :clapping:

Hi Group One reason their is different success with a variety of headphones is internally the headphone impedance is probably 200-300 ohms, whereas most headphones are 4-16 ohms. It's a design value to reduce audio...........hence battery demand.............lower volume at max means extended battery use. Now you know the reest of the story :nopity:

Ok i like the killer bees sounds like they have a great following..Bill do they help to volume of the F75..My audio 200 headphones I use with the volume all the way up on the machine and headphones..Walking in dry heavy leaves in the woods they could be a touch louder.

Killer bees, detector pro NDT or Black widow...They all seem to be similar price and specs..anyone like or dislike..

I use the FISHER PHONES that look like the ones used on CZ-20's-only with a volume control. They seal completely around the ears. Great dynamic range and plenty of volume, although I don't know what the ohm rating is.
But from having them repaired, I'd go with a unit that allows you to change out the cord yourself.

I don't like the tone of my Killer B's with my F-75. Tones are too harsh and always sound broken. I tried an old pair of Radio Shack Nova 40's I had and they solved this. Super sweet unbroken tones. They are also much more comfy. I like the Killer B's with my other detectors.
