Is there anyone out there who can share there preference for ether Troy Pro or Grey G Nugget Buster NDT headphones.I get to do a little gold hunting as well as coin and I'm not shaw weather these 2 headphones would be over kill for the x-70.Looking for phones without the noise limiting circuitry. Any help would be fantastic as the more I read the harder it is to make a dissision.

I just got myself a set of Koss headphone for my X70 and they are great, you should have a look into them and see what you think.

You do not need to spend a lot of dollars to get headphones that work well with the X70. My Koss QZ-99's are an excellent match. They have large muffs that cover the ears comfortably and block outside noise as well or better than the more expensive phones. Also they match very well with the X70's circuitry giving very good responses on faint signals which is needed for nugget hunting.

Not only are the QZ-99's great phones, you can pick them up on the Internet for around $40 (they list for $60 directly from Koss), and they have a lifetime guarantee.

Good hunting,

Hey Tom on the QZ-99's is it a single volume control, and it is a click stop type control or continuous?

with about 40 click stops. The volume pot they use givs a good range of adjustability for detector use.

Here in Australia Koss QZ99s $187.00 plus another $10.00 for post. Grey Ghost Nugget Buster NDT $184.00 delivered with extra cord from USA. This is in Aust dollars of course. But thanks to those who replied.
