headphone selection help me spend wisely

I find myself at the point I can pick up some better headphones (have only ear-buds now). I'm hoping better quality will allow me to id deeper gold targets (shallow for that matter as well, because I'm o-fer).
I read with interest the sunray post below and their website.
I have heard the blow-out caused by hitting large piecs of iron on the surface.
Can anyone tell me which headphones have a limiting circuit? Do any quality sets have straight cables(not coiled) As I am always hunting in buck brush or manzanita plots.
Finally, what about warranties.
I'll appreciate comments from end users as most sites I've visited already.

I recently bought the Sun Ray Pro Gold headphones from my local dealer. I too shopped around a bit before choosing these. My reasons for selecting the sun rays over the others was durability, size, comfort, and of course the limiter. I do know that the Rat Phones can have a limiter built in when requested, but they were too big for my liking. As for the Sun Rays. They are VERY comfortable and lightweight, they stay firmly in place, they are built like a brick S**thouse, and the limiter works great for the MXT. I also like the ratcheting volume control knobs because one set to your liking, I doubt they will inadvertently be bumped out of position. I like the coiled cord because it allows for some give if caught on something. All in all, i have no complaints about them. They may be a little higher priced then most but you get what you pay for:usaf:

I use the Ratphones with the single volume and limiter to keep from killing your ear. He will add the limiter for you if needed at no charge I beleave. I love the way minw sound and very comfortable.

headphones. Essentially the same performance (for good reason). I like the click-adjustable volume controls, the excellent selectable limiter circuit, and I prefer the coiled cord. It is a very good length w/o being too short or too long.

When I hunt in the sage brush-choked ghost town or in the older, overgrown park fringes and such, I prefer the coiled cable to a dangly straight cable as there is less chance for tangling, and a little 'give' should that occur.

Thank you for the input guys. I am leaning to the sunrays, but get this! I sent out 5 emails to nearby companys listed on their website asking for a price for the 'phones and shipping to 96093. 2 days wait and no replies...guess they don't want to sell them??!??

JT,

If you are having a problem finding a Sun Ray dealer with Sun Ray Pro Gold headphones give me a call and I will fix you up with a pair. Thank you.
