Headphone problems

Grunter

Active member
I was hunting the beach yesterday and went to take my headphones off and one of the muffs fell free of the headband. After much patience and frustration I was able to get it back in the slot. Today after a recharge the headphones would not pair up with the control unit causing me to abort my hunt. No matter how I turned the headphones off and the control unit off and on nothing worked. Anyone else have this kind of problem? These headphones IMHO are not very durable.

My Minelab wireless headphones just stopped working last hunt and I had to re-pair them with the Equinox 600 detector.
I dont know why they stopped and I am worried this may become an ongoing problem.

PAWW Wavesound 2.1. These phones are awesome. They pair and feel great. Turn them on, they say, power on. Start the pairing, they say pairing, shove the control box under water, they say connection lost, turn them off, they say power off. Full size ear cups and light. You won't regret buying these.

On a site i am that is a name of a river . They are cheaper than the ones supplied in box . Dont know what they would be like and dont know if they would be better at dealing with the WIFI issues i have had with mobile phone disturbance on the beaches but maybe i will buy a pair later .

Not sure what your saying, but I see them from $85 to $140. I paid $87 for mine and they are great. Low latency and quality sound. Good luck with your issues.

Cannot mention the site as we get into trouble dont we ! Think of a river about 5000 or more miles south of you . The phones on there for me would be £75 .
There is a lot of wifi issues on my beaches and emi too . It affects all machines but the Nox is crazy with it.

I think I solved my issue with the headphones not pairing up. I recharged everything did an FP. I held the on button on the headphones until I heard the jingle and two distinct chimes and they paired up just fine. Patience is a virtue and can over come many issues.

Look at the Archmage clean sound bluetooth head phones, for about $45 they work great with the 600, come in a nice case and have 50 hour battery life time.

Sometimes I have had to repair the stock headphones. They are what they are, enough to get by but not robust by any means. Detecting headphones need to be tough. Get some grey ghost cans and a quality adapter 3.5mm to 1/4" like sennheiser and use the WM08.

Note on GrayGhost: If you do not get the amphibians with the volume control for the ATSeries or CTX detectors your volume will be very low.
I tried two sets of the Deep Woods and the volume was barely usable compared to both Amphibians.
I made adapters to go from the Equinox to both the ATSeries and the CTX Amphibians, that way I can use the headphones on more than one detector model. Two Equinox 800s; one has 35 hours on the ATSeries adapter and the other has 6 hours on the CTX adapter with no problems in the salt or fresh water, no land use.

Just got home from fresh water hunting and used the Field2 Mode, worked fine as did Park2. Biggest difference is the 50 vs. 5 tones. I don't know if I will ever master the 50 tones, much less the 5. 1 or 2 tones have been enough for me over the past 35 years. But I will give it a go, I have nothing else to do but to learn the new technology.

The Grey Ghost NDT's, with volume control on ea cup and with toggle switch in the down position will blow your ears off with the volume up. A comfy level can be found between the NOX volume adjust and the GG's volume adjust. I'm using the WM08 with an adapter and of course none of this is rated for water. But it's got all the blast, more than I can take - damaging! I like this setup better than the stock wireless.
