Headphone Amplifier for Tejon

I bought a set of headphones from Radio Shack and they each have a volume adjust on the back of the headpiece. I used to run the volume all the way up and still was having trouble hearing all the "different" blurps and scratches and beeps, due to partial hearing loss on my part.

I picked up a little amplifier, about the size of a 9 volt battery that uses one triple A battery, and goes inline between the Tejon and the headphones....no switches...when it is plugged in, then it's on. This little gadget makes an incredible difference, it cost $7.99 and had free shipping. Really happy with this little unit, hope it will let me hold off buying the expensive headphones at least until next season.

Anyone else use one of these type amps?

I am in no way affiliated with this company, nor do I have any interest in their business dealings. I merely found a gadget that makes this hobby much more productive and enjoyable for me, and thought I would pass it along for others who may also have trouble hearing through their headphones.

It also comes with a cable. What I did was remove the 1/4" adaptor from the end of my headphones, plugged it into the Tejon, then plug the cable provided into the amp, and plugged my headphones into the other side of the amp. If you have a 1/4" cable end on your current headphones, you will have to get an adapter to take it down to 1/8" to make this work. I believe those adapters are about $3 at Radio Shack. I am going to attach it to the side of the control box with some velcro.

If you decide to go this route, make certain that you have a way to control the volume on your headphones, as this amp only boosts the signal and has no volume control.
