Anyone got any good headphones for an older sovereign xs2 for sale ? Or can you recomend a good brand that works good with the sovereign xs2 ?

I use a set of Garrett Land headphones on mine. Under $30, cheap and effective.

That being said, any headphones you like with a 1/4" plug will work.

The better the quality of the headphones the better you can hear what your machine is telling you. The audio output of the sovereigns benefits greatly from good headphones. Any of the better quality headphones will work very well for you.

Some speakers on the factory phones put out just arent high quality and dont always sound right on another machine. I believe Ralph at Sunray makes a very good pair of phones. I use the Sunray golds...clear realistic sound. But if u use any high quality one u will notice the specs are about the same. Coils and headphones have made a huge.difference in the past few years.

A lot of people liked Timber Wolves for the Sovereign. My favorite is my Jolly Rogers, very comfortable, but not loud enough for most people.

If you need the volume like I do I find the Timberwolfs work the best for me, but some were made before the company quite making them that i found were not as good. Another set I find that works real good with the Sovereign for me as they too have great volume for us that are hard of hearing and those are the Bushmasters made by Detector Pro. If you have good hearing and don't need the extra volume than the Sun Ray Pro Gold are real nice.
Now new the Bushmaster are around $135 or so, but a couple of weeks ago a used set was advertised by one of our sponsors ( I think it was Richard at backwoods) for $65 that look like new, so I quick picked them up for someone if they needs a set as the price was right for a set that works great on the Sovereigns.
