This is the light that gulfhunter an myself use when we night hunt, its American made, waterproof to 1000 ft, comes with 4 aa Duracell batteries, two reflectors( wide n narrow beam) halogen & krypton bulbs an carries a lifetime warranty. Its called a Vor Tec headlamp, mfg by Princeton Tec Sports Lights, at www.princetontec.com. Oh, an yea no laughing at my UGLY mug, i modeled it for u- all to see.

That headlight is highly recommended, even withstands 5 foot headstands while trying to excavate a stubborn target! Has never faltered, although the halogen is a sky burner and really sucks down the juice.HH

I suggest led lamps. You get a diffused neon like light with incomparable battery endurance.
I use a Petzl Tikka plus with 4 leds (the minumum, do not use less than 4 leds).

I used LEDS, I bought a three LED, took it back and got an eight LED... took it back and and ended up getting a halogen.

In my opinion... the Halogen was a lot brighter. I get four to five hours on 2 AA batteries.

Bought 3 of these from Cabelas. Best headlight I've ever seen for the money. You can run 4 LED's or all 8 LED's. Been dunked many times and it's 100% waterproof. Lights up the beach like a broadway stage. batteries last over 50 + hours too.

and the single led is plenty to hunt with,,and nobody can see it,,So you dont attract attention,,,heh heh to dual 2 red led mode is blinding to anyone not wearing it.cs

Hello,

well it is a matter of personal preference and local conditions. If you're hunting in high season (crowded beach also during the night here in Italy) I would prefer to be less noticed as possible and that brings my choice to the leds for low brightness and groud diffused light. If I want brightness and do not care of people (uncrowded beach as in the back of your picture), alogen is the way to go. :)

Cheers from Italy

Luca
