Guys give me some tips on how to set my machine up on the saltwater beach to get depth and gold hopefully!! I will be using the 10-1/2" coil on it. If you have some pointers feel free to share them!! Thanks

Also on the beach what areas are the most productive? The wet sand or dry?

1 - Hunt 2 hours before low tide, in the wet sand to start and hunt the outgoing tide. Try to find a coin line or a line where heavier targets have been deposited ( coins, sinkers).

2 - Ground balance in the wet sand using the bobbing method

3 - If you hunt in discriminate mode, set it to 0

4 - Do not run the sensitivity too high in discriminate mode

5 - Dig all REPEATABLE mid and high tones

6 - If the wet sand is mushy and you are digging deep pull tabs and aluminum, move on. The gold to too deep to recover. Find spots where the sand is hard, and where there are cuts, ripple troughs and areas of pebbles and shells.

Therover posts some good advice....but can add a few...

The large coil may give you more coverage but the stock 8 will give you more stability in the wet salt sand.

Get down on one knee and look for low spots where the goodies drop from the waves...

If it beeps dig it should be self explanatory.

If you can get away with regular mode in the wet salt sand expect more depth and likeness for small gold in regular mode..dry sand in most cases run in regular mode.

Carry a floral shovel and drag it behind you to see where you have been.

In dry sand paths to the beach produce.

Some busy day take a trip during the busy hours and see where crowds gather.

Get a tide table and arrive at high tide and work the tide out for best results.

Clean your equipment well after the hunt as salt sand is extremely caustic and many put a plastic bag over a land unit control box to help keep it saltfree.

Eat your wheaties walking in the sand is tough on the legs and tiresome so take some liquid refreshments to hydrate the body.

Don't throw away jewelry that is unmarked as old or foreign gold may not be marked.

I would add...
See if there is a web cam for your favorite beaches and save some gas and time. You can see where towel lines are, crowd levels and most important when there are erosion cuts! Often they have tide charts on the same page!
A common sense reminder is to hunt hard around where you make a find things tend to either get lost in groups or cluster for other reasons.
Make yourself slow down. With ail that room its hard not to hurry both too fast a swing and too fast a walk. You will find more going slower.
I don't think beaches really get hunted out. Go where the finds are and the people are or were. Don't fear to follow where others have tread.
Leave your cell phone in the car.
Consider a shovel with a few good magnets for all but water hunting. Learn to check signal leaves hole. Put each shovel load on different side of hole. Follow signal then start dividing mound and checking which half. You can wait to buy a $150 scoop until you KNOW you love beach hunting! A few diamond rings usually does it!
My CZ usually works as well as my PI all the way to the water.
Good luck and HH!
Tom (4 VERY nice rings in the last month- silver ring and loose one pk hunted)

Try searching in autotune (all metal) and then flipping to discriminate to help ID.

I think therover's posts of a while back helped get me into hunting autotune with the sensitivity set much higher than I could run in discriminate mode. Set the volume up in the 7 to 9 range to amplify the deep stuff. Turn up the sensitivity until you get an faint but audible threshold hum. Go hunting. When you hear a threshold change, flip it to discrimination of 0 (no other changes needed with a low sweep) and sweep SLOW right over the target.
