Headed to Longboat Key in June. Whose area will I be invading?:minelab::clapping:

Not a current resident, but I grew up in Bradenton and spent many a day sunning on the beaches on Long Boat and Anna Maria Island. It is a beautiful area and you should do well!

I've hit those beaches pretty hard with the E-trac and I can tell you that the beaches are like a desert. The state and cities are grooming the beaches every day with the sand machines and are picking up anything down to about 8 inches. Not much in the way of finding anything of any value in the sand.

The economy also has taken a toll on the beach scene. Not a whole lot of people out on the beaches.

I would recommend hitting the water. There is still stuff in the water dropped many years ago still there.

I've been to Lido beach, Manatee beach, Holmes beach, and quite a few others and have found nothing on the beach but have found some good stuff in the water. I'm using an Excalibur.

Beachsweeper the beaches are small and very clean At one state run beach the very nice parks ranger said only hunt the sand NO water hunting

To be honest i spent more time with a umbrella drink than a detector I stayed in Key Largo if i go again i would hit Miami or up the coast

Good Luck Mike

I hunt Anna Maria Island on occasion. It is hit hard. Only been to the northern to of Longboat (Whitney beach) and did not find much. This year I hope to hunt the water some with a new excal. I did find gold on AMI in the dry sand last year.
