Headed off to Surf Church this morning but wound up at the Laundromat instead?

I headed off to surf church at Horseshoe Bay early this morning in anticipation of what the Surf God had left for me after last nights storm. I expected it to be a little rough in the surf this morning but from the top of the bluff overlooking Horseshoe Bay it didn't look too bad.

Boy was I ever mistaken when I got up close. The waves were crashing in 5 feet high right where I wanted to hunt and there was a fierce undertow making it treacherous to go out past chest height. What's a pirate to do when he's got the gold fever boiling his blood, get in the water. What Else??

The waves had put a gentle cut on the beach and had overturned a garbage can, spilling its' contents into the prime hunting zone for this beach.

The best hunting area was riddled ith pull tabs and bottle tops including Heineken and Smirnoff caps which ring out real nice when you pass over them.

I dug everything for 2 1/2 hours and came away with a funky, custom .925 ring, inscribed with the phrase "My fingers emit sparks of fire in expectation of my future labours". I'll take it as a sign that I have to work a little harder if I'm going to get some more gold on future hunts.

(one tired pirate):goodnight:

I've been wearing it since I found it and I never wear silver. Dunhill is changing the packaging on their smokes and possibly the blend. I hope they don't mess with the blend. Player's are my back up smokes in Canada but you can't get them here.

Cheers,

bda, that is very deceiving, the pic. from off the hill the water looked almost flat.I agree with you 100% we should address what we do as a sport, not a hobby. I come home with aches all over some days.I have something close to tennis elbow from digging so much in the river with allot of rock.I will just suck it up and keep digging. Nice ring. HH

You know me well enough, Mate; to know that I'm a water pirate - period.
Max did a little dry sanding and responded to my post about hunting in the laundromat. I was tired at the end of the hunt but it was a good work out. Beats the heck out of going to the gym.
I see you're posting in the wee hours of the morning again, whatcha' find?
