hello everyone,
i have a pair of ear phones for the sovereign XS-2, would it be better if I got a pair of head phones?
which would be a decent pair?
thanks for any help,
john

yes you need good head phones to block out outside noise so you can here the faint deep sounds.i like Jolly Rogers for a reasonable price pair.around $65.00

Good headphones are an absolute necessity especially for the sov. that tells you so much with its tones. With good phones the difference between a bottle crown cap and a coin becomes clear just by the details of the tone. there are lots of good brands out there, just make sure that they are rated 150 ohms impedence for maximum response. i use black widows that have extra sound blocking, a limiter switch that will cut off the blast from a large shallow target, and a selector switch that allows you to use it with different brands. it is great on beach where i need extra sound blocking of the surf. the jolly rogers are light and comfortable. you might try calling David at Dixie Metal Detectors. he has great prices and will take time to help you select the right phones for you. you will be surprised what a different good phones make with the sov. Best of LUCK! Cash

I have the Sunray Gold Pro headpones, and I really like them so far (used them for about 12 hours last weekend and they were comfy too).
