Head Phones

Hi Everyone --

I have a question about headphones. I do not wear them, but talk to people who do, and they seem to like them. I am not one to wear big bulky headphones over my ears.

Has anyone ever tried using a reducer on the headphone jack to allow the use of ear buds, like you would use with your IPOD?

Does this work, or are the ear buds not sensitive enough to hear the deep tones?

Head phones are a must. There are numerous models available that just go over the ear rather then covering the entire ear. HH jim tn

Yes they will work but I find that if I wear them for long they hurt my ears. I will use the smaller regular headphones vs the bulky ones in the summer because the bigger ones get too hot.

I always use headphones. You can hear faint signals from deeper older targets with them. The headphones keep the sounds to you and you don,t get interrupted as often. However you can still easily hear people around you, though sometimes I don,t let on as I may not want to talk to them. They also will save your batteries as you should be able to turn down the sound/volume a little.

I've been using an expensive wireless pair from RS for a little over 2 years. They are not the greatest but, sometimes when the battery runs out and I have to detect without the earphones I feel like I'm lost. So many other noises that is makes it harder to hear the detector . I can only imagine what it would be like with a good set of wired earphones.

I've used the "ear bud" type earphones for a little over a month. They work great for me, light weight, cool, sensitive.....The don't seem to bother my ears at all. I did have to get an extension for the cord. I attached a simple clip to the cord so it doesn't get in the way when I'm detecting.
