Head phones help

It's all about the bass, bout the bass, no treble. :nopity:

Most phones will encompass the entire frequency range we can hear sounds, it's how they are built to reproduce those sounds that make a difference.
I have used several types from cheaper Garrett clear sound and low end Sony's which were ok but low volume to a $30 pair of Sony phones that were much better, louder and seemed to have an all around fuller sound up to my Killer B Optimas.
The B's with their very large 150 ohm speaker elements have the best sound I ever heard...on 4 completely different detectors.
Rich in bass, clear high tones, better detection of deeper lower volume signals and all wrapped up in a cocoon that blocks out most ambient sound which also helps.

I have no idea about other brands because I have not used them so in my experience only I would say try on a pair of B's sometime to see if that is what you looking for.

Thanks Reiver, that's exactly the info I was looking for. Appreciate that you understood what I was asking. "Rich in bass, clear high tones". This really helps.
Thanks again Buddy,
Bill

I think my gray ghost had the most base. I do have tinnitus in my left ear and I'm 65 years old so they may sound different to others hearing.

you know all the mayor detector aftermarket brands for land ph.'s use the same elements

granted they will and do sound different in different muffs.GG, PG like the soft muffs of the PG or KB over the GG myself

the elements are made for voice communications like call centres etc.. I did happen across some good speakers if you want a touch more bass that are sharp sounding.

music speakers are a different animal like the koss ones etc I have some real nice Sony headphones I am listening to music on right this very second and they are super great for music stick them on a detector and to me they are useless.

I been making my own :bouncy:

Thanks Guys for the response. But I've gotta tell ya I found a pair that did the trick. I found a little inexpensive pair of Garrett clear sound easy stow headphones hanging in my shed. Where they came from I have no idea. Plugged them in and there was the tone I was looking for. They may be small and inexpensive but sounds good to me.:detecting:
