Took this picture of a Grackle Bird hiding up in the Live Oak Tree in our back yard with a Canon SX10is bridge camera in the Auto Mode. Kelley (Texas) :)

Beautiful picture!

Wow, that really pops out at ya. Nice to use auto once in a while. I only use mine when the "moment" may be gone in a flash.....nge

when I am being lazy or it is a quick spur of the moment picture. Most of my serious pictures are taken with my Sony A300 DSLR camera.

I might add that some folks are of the opinion that the only way you are going to get a good picture is by using a DSLR. I tend to disagree with that assumption and have taken many good pictures with my Canon SX10is which is a bridge camera. I enjoy using all my cameras. Kelley (Texas) :)

You are welcome Kelley. Did you zoom in on the bird or were you really that close ? I wish the auto on my camera was faster. Seems like mine takes for ever. The Canon S2 has a "process" it goes through almost like a lag in the electronics to "set-up" to take the picture.

The Canon S2 is older technology and has a longer lag time than the newer cameras. Heck, my Canon SX10is is now five years old, but that is OK with me because it still takes good pictures. The Canon S2 was a very popular camera, and you would be surprised at how many are still being used. Yes, it does have a lag that can annoy you at times, but a skilled photographer can produce some good pictures using it. As a matter of fact, I enjoy using older cameras, just part of the hobby known as photography. Kelley (Texas) :)
