Hay I am starting to get the hang of this thing

So I had a couple of hour to kill this afternoon and I headed to a wooded area of our park that we have all but give up on finding anymore silver out of there. The E-Trac didn't know that and found me this nice little trophy, a 1941 silver quarter.

Being that this area is wooded most of our silver finds were in the 2 to 4 inch deep range, this little guy was a real deep one for this area it was right at 6". Not all that deep from what I read for the E-Trac.

This was the only coin I found for my 2 hours of hunting.

Nice find............... You'll find more.

As you said go back to my old hunting spots, and that is what I am doing. So far I have that silver quarter above and a silver dime from a week or so ago, both were from our old hunting areas.

Thanks,

I don't hunt woods much but from the ones I've done, they can be a funny environment. Decades of leaf cover, roots pushing things around, animal action....the coins can just about be anywhere. It's very feasible that in a really mild soil in a woods condition the etrac would've found a silver quarter TWICE that deep. Not extremely common, but certainly feasible.
If I hunted two hours and found only one coin,I'd be absolutely OK with a silver quarter! Nice find Ron...

I was also using my homemade pattern that I made with Auto Latch using the 5x5 box to give each target a little room or spread for those signals that are not perfect. Seemed to work pretty good for just coins.

Nice "only find" love when that happens the other day I had an all silver coin
Morning and a gold class ring!
I think one wheat cent to

Mkus,

Most of us would like to see, so post a few pictures and tell the story.

We went hunting yesterday and the best I could do was 2 wheat pennies 1944 and 1951 in the same hole. You talk about deep, these 2 were at least 2" deep.LOL
