Having confidence

If I am a disciple, then I am to go and make disciples of others. And if I am not making disciples of others, then I am not being the disciple He wants me to be. Let me emphasize, however, that God never asks us to do something that He will not give us the power to do. The calling of God is the enabling of God. So if Jesus has commanded us to go and make disciples, then we must be confident that He will give us the ability to see it through.

The area he is speaking about is Matthew 28:19 & 20 . Dont know if he has a direct passage or if he's drawing a conclusion from it. steve

The right words and strength to do it! I remember one time when I was in the Court House seeing my lawyer (concerning my ex's pension) I saw a lady sitting by other people on another floor as I was leaving and she looked kinda sad or troubled...the Holy Spirit spoke to me and said to go tell her everything would be okay! I made almost a u-turn as I had passed her and stood in front of her and leaned down and told her what was told me to say to her! She didn't say a word nor did I say anything else, but just went on to where I could leave the Court House! Still to this day, that was in the mid 90's, I don't know what it was all about, but I obeyed and felt good about it....so God's work was done and up to Him to accomplish it for His purpose!

This is a true story and I'm a shy person, who couldn't speak to strangers and hard to read my poems in front of the church members until God insisted and when I didn't I really felt bad about it and didn't have peace!

God Bless!

Lets qualify this just a little more . . .

John 8:31 tells us just what a disciple is . . . we have to 'continue' in His Word.

Continue = 'men-o' = to remain, dwell, endure, to be held and kept continually. It gives
the idea of someone who pays continual attention to, not occasionally stumbles into ;-)

When verse 31 is active in our lives, then , verse 32 applies. If not 31 then we are
not 32.

Make sense ? ? ?
