Haven't been beeping in weeks. Got an urinary tract infection I didn't know I had that is antibiotic resistant and it just knocked me for a loop...

and I was really feeling lousy. Been taking antibiotic shots and IV antibiotics and I'm starting to feel a lot better. Made a hot trip to the ER Sunday night as I was in some serious pain and I had to wait five hours at that sorry stink hole to get some pain medication. I told the doc what I thought of that dump. I came close to walking out of that snake pit. I have pain pills that I have been on for 20 years for a back injury but they wouldn't touch that pain. Any way I got the pain eliminated. So I hope I'm on the road to recovery. Have to take these shots every day and I've had five so far and got two more this week plus another anemia shot. Hope to get out tecting in a few days if I can stay out of the doctor's office. HAA.

Bill.

Bill,
Your a trooper! When most guys would be licking their wounds your thinking about digging holes! Your a tough Buzzard! Take care and get well.

That's what the nurses and docs say, I'm a tough old fart. The other day the nurse bent her needle trying to give me a shot in my arse and had to get another one.. I think she told everybody in the clinic how tough I was. HAA. I ain't got brains enough to be sick. HAA.

Hope you get to feeling better Uncle Willy! Old age ain't for sissies. I had to cancel my trip to Amsterdam this year and I had really looked forward to hunting some of those old locations like fields and castles, if I was lucky. I'm having to wear knee braces on both knees and can't walk very far at the time, much less do any digging. Hope you get to feeling better soon and post some good finds. It's cooling off in my area, but it doesn't look like I will get to do any metal detecting anytime soon. Happy Hunting.

I hope your better soon Bill. I know how you feel with the ER. I had 3 discs prolapse in my neck about 6 years ago. I went to the ER (we call it causality over here). twice in a few days in all sorts of grief and left with it still undiagnosed both time and a script for panadeine forte which was completely useless! The quacks there figured I had a sore neck. I'm glad they weren't brain surgeons! (I think.:stretcher:) It took 3 weeks to find out what it was and 5 quacks! When they figured it out they started throwing bucket loads of pain killers and nerve inhibitors at me. I could have lost the use of my right arm in that time. I'm mostly over it now, but still have after effects that may have been prevented if they knew what they were doing. I have very little faith in them. Actually; the abattoir that I work in (700 people) flies our injured workers directly to a Private hospital in Sydney because of the sloppiness of these medical twits. They have stuffed up far too often.
Mick Evans.

Get well soon Uncle Willy!:)

Geez Uncle Willy I think you're WAY over your share of down time this year!!
Hope you kick this and get back soon.

Boy me too. I'm getting tired of doctors and tests. I want to go beeping. I'm feeling slightly better so I may give it a whirl tomorrow. I need to get out in the fresh air and get some exercise. Can't do anymore than kill me. HAA. I remember my buddy Stan ( no longer with us ) who lived on an oxygen tank and being an engineer he built a special seat/cart to haul his tank and for him to sit on and detect and dig his targets and he done quite well. Couldn't keep that old boy down as he did love this hobby.

I'm working on it. Got two shots today at two different places. Going to get some more tomorrow and Friday. I've had so many the past few weeks I'm beginning to feel like a pin cushion. I keep thinking every time I take a drink that I'm going to look like a lawn sprinkler. HAA.

Sorry to hear of your ordeal and I feel for you and hear you. I've had my share of quacks who couldn't find their own arse with a roadmap and a guide dog. The one at the ER Sunday was as useless as tits on a boar and wouldn't make a pimple on a real doctor's arse and the sad thing is there are far to many of these jokers out their masquerading as doctors. I hope the after effects fade away soon and don't plague you forever.

Bill

Dang bud I'm sorry to hear that. Bum knees are a real bummer. Hope they heal up soon so you can get out there. Yeah getting old really sucks. HA.

Bill

Thanks bud I'm trying as hard as I can but everytime I turn around something new smacks me in the arse. I think every ailment out there is using me for target practice. HAA.

Obviously she said you were a tough arse:biggrin:

Get better soon, Jack Slade!

Those shots should clear it up sooner then later. They work much better then pills. Looks like you need to drink more water. Sometimes taking higher doses of vit. C will help kill the bugs, or drinking lots of cranberry juice to prevent those bugs from sticking to your bladder wall. Hope you are feeling better soon Bill. I know UTI's can make a person feel extremely ill.

Hope you get back into the Garrett saddle

John

Yeah I'm working on it. Had about 6-7 shots already. If they don't kill it then it's the IV route. I still ain't feeling too spiffy but then I had this bug for awhile without even knowing I did and it took its toll on me.
