Have you switched from a vibra probe to a Sunray target probe?

I have been using a Vibraprobe for years, and frankly I refuse to detect without it. Anyway, I was and have been thinking about getting a Sunray target probe for my Sovereign GT.

Any comments about the sunray Sovereign probe would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Jason

I have been using the Sun Ray S1 probe for my Sovereigns since they come out. When I get another Sovereign or upgrade I always order the new probe too as this has helped my find more target each time out as I spend less time looking for the target and more time detecting. I get the signal I want and if it is loud I get a general idea where the target is and turn on the probe and find the target. Now if it is deeper I will go to pinpoint on the detector and decide where the target is and dig a plug, now while in pinpoint I turn on the probe and go in the hole and see where the signal is coming from and dig out that area. Now in all metal pinpoint the probe will have around 4 inches or more depth, so if the target is at a angle the pinpoint can be off 3 or 4 inches, but with the Sun Ray probe you will know it is and easy to find instead of digging deep and then start digging the sides out trying to find the target. Now also being this probe runs though the Sovereign itself it will do what the main coil does, just don't go as deep as the main coil, so it is a disc probe too. If you know your Sovereign well you know you will dig some of the iffy signals that could be the deep coin or maybe a false of iron, well when I go in with the probe in all metal i can find the area of the target then switch to disc and tell if it is a good signal or a false of iron.
Over all the Sun Ray probe is the first accessory you should get for the Sovereign and no of no other probe that will work as good, cost a little more than a hand held probe, but will work much better as the signal will come though your headphones just like the signal from the detector. If you get one I wonder if you will say the same as most, "I should have got one sooner"

I carry both and use both of them every time I got out. I use the SunRay when I'm beach hunting in the sand, but when I'm out there wading with the GT I remove the SunRay and carry the Vibra Probe 560 as it is waterproof. I also own several other detectors besides the GT so I can't afford the SunRay Probe for everyone of them so that's where the Vibra Probe comes in handy.

Jason, I had a Vibra-Probe 460 (!st Model Vibra-Probe), and replaced it with a SunRay In-Line Probe. I have (2) SunRay In-Line Probes, one on my Sov-GT, and one on my FISHER CZ-70Pro. Rick, is telling it to you STRAIGHT-UP!! They work off the Disc. Electronics of whatever detector, you buy it for. Rick is a REAL
Detectorist, and ONLY a Part-time Dealer. HE ALWAYS MAKES TIME TO TALK TO HIS CUSTOMERS, and WILL ALWAYS TRY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS
YOU MAY HAVE HONESTLY!! I bought my SunRay In-Line Probe from Rick, and he is an EXCEPTIONAL DEALER to do business with, and I WILL CONTINUE TO DO BUSINESS WITH HIM!! BEST OF LUCK, whatever you decide!! Les Robinson

The Sunray probe has helped me recover coins I would have otherwise lost or write off as false targets.I use a Bullseye 2 but it doesn't have the depth or give the information the Sunray probe does.I have used an inline probe with a Fisher, but the Sunray works best with the Sovereign. With the Sunray you still have the tone and a reading on the dig meter.Bottom line, to say the Sunray S1 Probe works great on the Sovereign is an under statement.
