Have you gone from an Explorer to a F 75?

Just curious has anyone gone from an Explorer to a F 75?How do they compare.I'm too stupid to start an argument.Just looking for a comparision.Thanks.Bill

I have an explorer and just added the F-75. I'll probably keep both for a good while - and I wont say and start something also - and mine other machines that I'll keep - this could go in circles

I had an explorer II. Its the only machine I've used for the past 3 years.

I heard alot about the F75 so I bought one. I was an am still a big explorer fan, but I went to 3 different sites and tried each machine. I found the F75 is much lighter and didn't wear me out like the explorer did after 5-6 hours of swinging. Also, the F75 is much faster at recovery than the Explorer. I missed alot of items because the machine was resetting, where as the F75 reset instantly and identified a number of items the explorer missed.

I just sold the explorer as I don't have alot of time to detect, and really only need one machine. For me the F75 works better. Just my thoughts.

I have both and intend to keep them. They make great stable mates in my experience. The F75 is light and fast and just plain fun to use. Depth on both are pretty much equal. Both work well in trash. While the SE is heavier and slower to process those 28 frequencies, it does a litte better in mineralized ground. I also have several coil for the SE, and none other than the stock are yet available for the F75. The processor on the F75 isn't just fast, but blazing fast compared to other detectors, but especially so compared to an SE.

I reach for the F75 more than the Explorer right now. That is for several reasons including the heat we have here now (lighter, easier to swing) and the dry ground that is too hard to dig.

I've pretty much been in the water all summer with the Excalibur. I do use the F75 or the SE in the volley ball pit, mostly the F75.

I'm keeping both, but the F75 is the first detector since 2001 that I use more than a Explorer on dry land.

The explorer is much slower and just plain uncomfortable for me to hunt with (HEAVY). I traded mine for a MXT. I got a F75 too and like it so far but it is to hot and dry to really give it a work out yet.

In my good ol' North Carolina dirt, they are neck and neck for depth at most sites. However, after using the F75 for quite a while now, it drives me NUTS to have to go back to the reset speed of the Explorer! There's a lot of cool stuff with the Explorer, and I like a lot of the available hunting options, but the only time I've used it lately is for wet sand hunting at the beach... I'm not saying it's bad at all... I like it, I just get frustrated due to having to hunt so slowly, and the weight and ergonomics can get a little tough too.

They are both great detectors, but my first grab is the F75.

The difference in speed and weight are (to me) significantly in the F75's favor. The differece isn't marginal, it's an order of magnitude. The more I use the F75, the less tolerant I am of my other machines. That doesn't make the other machines any less effective, just tougher to accept.

Thanks, MattR. I'd love to get "across the pond" and hunt over some Roman coins!
Be well and God Bless,

I HAVE hunted right along side of a number of them. (with my 75).
They dont seem to have any depth advantage (the 75 seems to be every bit as deep), and the 75 is definately superior in separation and recovery speed. So much so, there really isnt any comparison. Add to that the better ergonomics, and lighter weight, and I dont think its difficult to decide which machine comes out on top. I still think the EX is a great machine ( a lot of my buddies do very well with them), but I think I'll stick to my F75. :) :) Streak!
