Have you ever had anyone go behind your back?

and hunt a site you took them to only to find out they hunt it with out you?

Im totally crushed that some one does that to me,let alone to take other people there also.Granted i dont live there anymore, but I keep in contact with the owner and I do hunt the place when I fly down.Anyhow I just had to vent.Daniel

I met a guy on one of the forums who showed me a couple of spots. I told him I would feel weird going there without him. He said it was OK. While I did go back alone, I never showed anyone else the places. However, I know he's through with some "hunted out" spots, so I wouldn't feel bad about bringing someone to one of them.

As far as your site is concerned, I don't know... you did move from there. Still I can understand how you feel. The way I look at it, anytime i tell someone about a "secret site", I know full well it's not going to be a secret for long :) The only way to keep a site "private" is to hunt it yourself :) When it comes to hunting sites, remember the X-Files theme? "TRUST NO ONE"

Things like that are not cool. Sorry to hear it.
Glad you stopped by and hope to see more of you!

God bless!

that there are places one will take someone that is special to them and would prefer to keep it to himself and those who he invites...otherwise it is rude to hunt on his own or with someone else.

In the case of Warthog and others I have a ballfield and a few other places to share with them. If they were to come hunt there by themselves that would be ok but maybe I want to go along :)

Even if I couldn't go with them they'd still have my best wishes for a great swing. I know they would tell me what I missed...just to make me feel bad I didn't go

I do have one place I have shared with no one...yet. Probably would be bothered to find someone else there but since I haven't shown anyone it yet...my situation isn't exactly like yours in that case.

I have been invited to detect with others and would not detect where I had been taken...unless they went along or I asked and they said go for it.

What is that saying that Jack Nicholsen says in Batman...."Don't step on another man's rhubarb?"

Welcome to the forum. Oh yeah there is one guy I know who gets real mad if you even own a metal detector because he doesn't want anyone digging in HIS dirt. That would be the State Archaeologist of Michigan.

Hi Daniel - Good to see ya on the forum. Sorry to say, but life has these kinds of people in every area we live in. Just have to try and choose good people - we all make wrong choices once in a while. Gotta bite the bullet sometimes.

On a brighter note = keep us posted on your finds, steve in so az

I never tell people not to take anyone. I just expect people to do the right thing and they don't. I took a guy to my very best spot, twice. He didn't take anyone because it is someones lawn. I told him about another spot that I knew of and couldn't get to at the time. He took some other people and he won the relic sompetition that month in his club. I really didn't have a problen with that but then he found a really good site and it is his "private" site... he "Can't" take anyone there right now.

Oh well, now I know. I deleted his phone number from my phone.

I have one friend who truly share's sites he finds with me. I figure there is enough out there for everyone but many people are really possessive about sites. Some people may consider me to be nieve but I just prefer to be who I am and try to continue to treat others as I would want to be treated, it still hurts a little though... but I am not going to change the way I do things.

Now don't get me wrong. If I find a site that starts giving up CS plates I am going to hunt it myself for a while but I don't owe anyone access to a good site because no one has shared a good site with me except for the one guy and he has shared what he has. He doesn't have a really good site but he has shared the best that he has. I would take him anywhere.

You live and learn but don't let it change you, just drop those particular people. Keep a good heart. I have alway's had a motto, sort of: "Don't let other peoples evil become evil in you".

Julien

Thanks ya'll. Im contemplating maybe I should never share a site again, but I like to meet people and take them to places they've never hunted,so we'll see how it goes.

Anyhow.Steve...aint dont any relic hunting this year to busy working and hunting and fishing.I'll be flying down to the states to hunt come March,I might try and get to Arizona,we'll see how that goes.Daniel
