Have they fixed the T2?

In the early going when we had one of the first T2s, it had a problem with the battery compartment. In all fairness, the F-75 I have also had a battery compartment problem. But the T2 would reset itself with the slightest bump of the compartment, requiring you to go and readjust everything. I was wondering if this had been fixed with the newer ones? Anybody know?

But if I do it will go back in a big hurry.................

I haven't noticed that problem in a long time. That's a problem they had a few years back & was taken care of.

Those that haven't done so, just stretch the springs in the battery compartment a tad.

On mine, I stretched the springs and also put a piece of foam weatherstrip on the side of the compartment. The factory fix was to change to a stronger spring.

The first T2's battery door was not padded. This caused the batteries to move all the time which was very annoying. My T2 had this too. If you look at the battery door on an F75 it's padded on the backside so they had learned their lesson. I got a F75 battery door & put it on my T2 & it as not shut down since! Others have mentioned new springs, but I have the original springs still, & feel the real problem was the door......
My buddy's T2 has the old door & shuts off when he drops it. But he does not want to send the whole unit in for that. Maybe a call to First texas would be all it took to get a new door?

I just bought a used T2 and it has the battery issue. Can someone explain or post a picture of the foam in the battery compartment?? Did they just add foam beside the batteries as well as on the battery door??

I think I'm really gonna like this thing after I get the shutting down thing taken care of!!
