Have the choice between an F75 or F5 need help deciding:confused:

Need help deciding have the choice for an F75 in mint condition with all issue upgrades for $700
or a new F5 for $500 would love either unit.
Thanks

Depends on your skills and money. The F75 is still the King of all Fishers if you know how to set it up. That's why retail is $ 999.

But the F5 at half the price is not half the detector. It is very good for the money and beats many if not all other brand detectors for the money.
The best thing about the F5 is how easy it is to use and setup. All professional features that can be controlled by a beginner....very, very easy.
You should see the power of the F5 in All Metal Mode. :clapping:

Get the F75 ..because if you do not..in your mind there will always be a better detector than what you are using.
Money of course can be the deciding factor too.
Try the F75 if not what you want..sell it, and then buy the F5................... The F75 is awsome, and you may never want to part with it.

Another factor a lot easier trading down than trying to trade up..

I have had my F75 for over a year now and I have had a lot of detectors in the past 12 years. They all are great but they are not the F75. I love the F75 and I think the F5 may be great for coins you just never know when you are going to be relic hunting. And the DD makes all of the difference to me. I would buy the F5 and sell a few of my detectors if it had the dd and a small dd coil and use it as a back up but I would always use my F75 90% of the time.

If your a seasoned hunter F75 in a heartbeat but if your a relative newbie F-5 is less complicated to set up. Hunting close to 20 years and using many units going to take some time to set up my F-70 and if I was a newbie would really being a challenge..Remember the 5 year warranty on the F-5 comes into play and must be taken into consideration also...All in all your call....

If you have some swinging experience, I would strongly recommend going with the F 75. As Low Boy mentioned, the DD coil is a major factor, in my opinion as well. And, the F 70 would be a great choice as well. With either the F75 or F 70, you would have three great coils to select from and use as situations dictate. I've been thinking about going with the F 5 as my backup, but am now leaning towards the F70 myself. Hopefully Fisher/First Texas will get us a smaller DD coil for the F70 and 75. HH jim tn

Just curious, why do you guys believe the DD coil is better then the concentric ? I find concentrics far easier to pinpoint with, but haven't tried the F75/70 yet.

first and foremost..........the target separation is much better with the DD coil than the concentric. Also.....the sheer coverage is better as well. you dont need learly as much coil overlap with the DD..so your less apt to miss something. In certain conditions, the concentris will ge better depth...but thats its ONLY strength.

happy to know that streak!..just got a f-75,and she is brand new to me!..been huntin' with whitey for over thirty years, and went with the fisher because of the great feedback on the forum, and the fastest processor in the west,or any where else!..never hunted with a dd before,so i am pleased with what you say about it,as it shouls be a 'fun" loop in the trash, and elsewhere!.

The DD is fast and great for trash and iron

but got tired of the mediocre depth and poor separation (even with the DD coils). Have fun with your new toy. It'll grow on ya!!! Streak!

thanks streak!..almost 400 years of history here!..i am hopeing the 75 sniffs some goodies out!

What is your honest opinion between the F70 and 75?
You've used both.

It's alot like the F75 in depth, if not deeper......

I'll second that question. Since you have both, I'd like you to try both with the SAME coil.

I want to know how then they compare in depth, stability, separation, and how well they compare to one another on locking in on the target number.
