i have a prizm 2 and am new to detecting. i am able to find clad but have not been able to find any rings or jewelry. im not sure what level to have my disc. do i need to dig every repeatable signal ? i sometimes have the indicater bounce between the nickel and the pull tab. what kind of a signal should i recieve with rings and will it be a good repeatable tone? still trying to learn thanx

Low disc or no disc. Gold rings/jewerly can read anywhere from foil to nickel. depends on mass and size of ring. A smaller coil might be helpful. Most rings are found at beaches. Parks much harder. Run your coil over some rings you have at home. Good luck.

I use a Prizm IV, it's just like a Prizm II with added features.

I turn of all disc and dig everything in my path. If there is a repeatable signal under the coil, I dit it. It doesn't matter what the display tells me. Gold and silver rings can show anywhere on the display, with gold showing from zinc cent down to iron, and silver from zinc cent up to 50cent/dollar. The Prizm line of detectors are very capable of finding jewelry. You just got to know where to look. I've learned to find more jewelry, I go to sports fields or beaches where jewelry is more likely to get lost. You will dig a lot (and I mean a lot) of junk to find jewelry, other than coins. 75% to 85% of what I find is junk. There is just no way around it. Removing junk helps for next year's hunt in the same sports field.

Hope this helps
