have old Garrett

i have an old Garrett not sure what model it is the tag on it says 024-79 the coil is on open white one with the words deep seeker all it says on the control panel Garrett electronics VLF/TR discriminator it has 4 knobs and one battery test switch the ground zero knob is bad goes all the way around want to replace it but dint know how many ohms and watts this rheostat is. i also need the owners Manuel for it this is my first Garrett and want to fix and use CAN ANYBODY HELP THANKS!!!!!
 
Hmmm, its kinda hard to figure out without a photo, but from what it says on the control panel it appears to be from the late 70s early 80s. Good luck finding out which md it is. HH
 
From your description your detector sounds like the ADS VLF/TR Deepseeker. The ground balance pot is a 10 turn and doesn't have a stop . You can continually turn it, so it's possible there's nothing wrong with it. You can download a PDF manual for it at the link below, hopefully it's the correct manual for your detector.

I have an old Garrett bfo discriminator Does anybody know if it can be used in water at all, does anyone know good spots to hunt I check playgrounds walk ways parks I found some things but I would like to find old war stuff pretty much anything from the past I know people won't give out there hunting ground just trying to get a lead on something I live in Springfield mass if anybody can help thank you for your time
