Have I been passing up Silver by not digging 01-36 signals?

I once detected at a park that had power lines overhead and it caused 01-36 signals on all ground balance channels and at all sensitivity settings. I was in a small Idaho town and passed on about 20 01-36 signals. All were 7 or so inches deep. I only found wheat pennies and coins older than 1959. all nickles and pennies. Now I see a youtube video where a guy digs a solid 01-36 and it is a silver Merc. Could I have walked over 20 or so silver coins? Should I drive back to the town and check. Has anyone ever dug silver at 01-36?

Have never dug silver at 1-36 but have dug several Indians from 1-36 thru 4-36 and even a few wheat's that were on edge in those same numbers.

i dug a merc at 1-39 but it sounded like a 12-44. The place gave screwy numbers on alot of coins.

I have dug several silver dimes that would bounce back and forth between 12-44 ,, 12-46 ,, and 1-36. When my e-trac gives me those numbers and a really sweat high tone I can usually tell before digging that its silver.. If I were you I would def go back and at least dig a few of them up.. worth checking IMO.. Good luck HH.

I would never pass up those numbers... they are just too good to pass up IMHO.

Good question, because when I hunt in TTF I was getting of 1-33-38 and I just passed them off as being hot rocks.
I recently changed my settings to cancel all those 33 through 38 and never looked back. Sometimes I and now wonder about what might have passed up.
DAM DAM DAM! I will dig a few and see what I get.

Unless you are getting them with nearly every swing, I would definitely dig a few. I hunted a yard earlier this spring that had a bunch of 1-37 signals, and they turned out to be snips from the siding on the house. After digging 8 or 10, I could tell by the depth and sound what it was. At least I knew for sure and didn't have to wonder about it later.

From what I've seen - target ID numbers can vary a lot from site to site and on individual targets as well.
I dig by the quality of the sound the target gives almost as much as by the ID numbers.
I look for a nice clean breaking - no or little bounce - signal that turns on and off real fast - hunting like this has resulted in many good finds !

Good luck !

Ok I went back and they were all pennies. No wheats just regular pre 82 cents. They were red from the soil but not like regular iron stained pennies. These were red like paint. anyway I am going to dig these numbers from now on. Thanks for the help.
