Kinda hesitant to approach the owner. I know it has history. Just gotta go see the fella and buck up I guess. My bosses son says he is a real nice fella. Easy for him to say aye? What the hey, give me words Lord!

Ron, approach the gentleman without a detector. Introduce yourself, and come to the point about what you wish to do. Have an extra detector with you, and offer to teach him the basics on detecting and recovery. Do this at a time when the ground is in good shape, and be as careful as possible about the appearance of the grass when you finish recovery. It may be a slow start, but you are almost assured of hunting opportunity. I used this for 30 years, and was only turned down once. When you finish, depending on success, you might make up a small display for the owner. You will be welcomed back. Hope this helps.

Thats one of my deals, is to offer use of my second detector. I also carry a trash bag. I tell them any trash I find I'll pick it up while I am there. (Within reason.)

are friends and neighbors of theirs. I asked Bill, (My boss) once to put in a word, guess he hadn't got around to it yet.
