Went out to a couple parks today, dug up about it seemed like 1500 pull tabs, a few dimes, pennies, and fishing weights and had to take a break...I was tired, saw a picnic table sat down, looked down by my foot and there was a nice shiny quarter sitting there ? All I could do was laugh. Thats another great thing about metal detecting...all the good stories ?

After 1500 pull tabs I would laugh for sure at the site of a quarter. Thank GOD for piknik tables A little rest and boom right there in your face.. good luck with your hunting

Yeah, I had tried Relics and a/m mode for weeks trying to find gold when I looked over by a tree and eyeballed a gold chain and pendant that paid for my Ace. So much for pre-planning.

I was working a gravel parking area last year, hitting a good amount of coins, when I started working the surrounding fence and in one spot picked up 7 coins laying on the grass. Gotta keep the old eyes open.

So would I. I would sit right down on the ground, wrap my arms around myself, and I would laugh and laugh and when they come to take me away I would still be laughing!

:usaflag:I remember a couple times this summer when I was out pounding the sod looking for treasure, coming home and finding silver in my wife's change. It's almost as thrilling as seeing it poking out of the dirt.

Yeah my wife used to manage a large cafeteria in a high rise downtown and she was always bringing silver and strange foreign coins home. Almost every day was a treasure hunt when she came home. HA.

Yeah the mystery is part of the lure. I was field testing a gold detector for Tesoro years ago and was hunting this rocky gravel bar in a local river and recovered a gold filling from someone's tooth and a few feet or so away a gold nugget earring, both laying amongst the gravel.. I always wondered if both were lost by the same person looking for one or the other that they had dropped.

Then one time I found 12 quarters in about a 16-20 inch circle at the base of some tall grass in front of a backstop at a ball diamond. I wondered who would carry 12 quarters in their pocket and how they would manage to lose them all. My buddy and I were hunting a volley ball court ( sand ) and right where the server would stand he recovered nearly six dollars in change all in one pile buried in the sand. Who would carry that much change and how would they lose it standing up? the mysteries never cease.
