It will never replace the T2 but Bounty Hunter has a winner here that's been sleepin'. Hey it may even have been discontinued. But if the Time Ranger and some of the other Bounty Hunters are similar in nature to this detector, we may want to look at Bounty Hunter again.

I've used these 3300's for about 15-20 times now with impressive results on their behalf. The depth is reasonable especially for your children or grandchildren. I've tested nickles and gold rings to 8 inches deep and the ID is even impressive. I dislike the depth register. But if your target is in the top 4 inches I guess it will do!

I just bought the Bounty Hunter Gold Coil for it . It's a 4" coil that adds a lighter feel good depth,
and trask control as well as great seperation in trashy area's.

I love my GTI2500 most of all, My T2 is a great machine with fantastic and numberious reasons to have in the arsenal, But this little Bounty Hunter will get the job done and is nothing to laugh at. I'll put it up against a lot of todays detectors and come out just as well! HEHEHE.... I know you think KCK has lost it!
Now let's get back to diggin'that gold!
Oh yea...I forgot to say I added three of them to the arsenal. Don't take my word for it. If you see someone using one, stop and check it out!

I thought the BH was a great deal for the $112 I paid for it. It had good depth, pretty decent target id and the pinpointing was pretty good too. For the money it cant be beat.

As far as comparing it to the ace, I think the ace done a little better job in the target id area. Depth to me was about the same, pinpointing was better on the 3300. They both had notch discrimination. The warranty is better on the ace. It seems the ace is a little better made. The 3300 would make a great first detector for someone starting out if you could pick one up for $112 if not I would spend the money and get the 250.

The 3300 seemed to be just sitting on the shelfs... not selling.
It was reduced in price. Question: What was the full price?

I have one of these. The wife uses it. Its VERY light. The arm rest is smaller in diameter and padded, which is PERFECT for a female or child. (My wife isnt no hercules). She was using a Garrett Groundhog with sniper coil. She LOVED it, but it is heavy and hurt her wrist a LOT. I got her the BH3300 at Radio Shack (you know... that place where you used to could find all kinds of electronic parts and pieces, but now you just go in and wait an hour while they answer 1000 questions about cellphones to soccer moms... the place sucks now!). Anyhow, it retailed for $300. I got mine for $107.00 Something like 70% off. Ive never used it; I like my GTX 1000, but she says it works pretty good, and she says its VERY comfortable. She does GREAT with it at parks finding charms and coins. It EATS batteries!!! I just installed 2 more 9Volts in it 2 weeks ago, and its dead already. Gotta be something wrong there. Today she read a dime VERY strong at 3" down. She pinpointed, and dug. Nothing. She scanned again, dug some more. She got aggrevated after about 5 minutes and asked me to scan it with my GTA 1000. It didnt even read as much as a spec on mine. nothing. She filled in her hole and went on. I think she is getting sick of it. She hasnt had much luck with it as of lately. She used to rack up with the groundhog. Were looking at possibly selling it on ebay and getting an ACE 250. Shoot, everyone here RAVES on and on about them. They need to rename this the ACE 250 forum. Ive seen people comparing them to GTIs. So maybe it will be better than the 3300.
The 3300 isnt a bad machine. I think she's just having a run of bad luck. Personally, I wouldnt use it, but I wouldnt advise against it either. I think for $107, its an AWESOME machine, but for $200, I could probably do better. JMHO

OH yeah, her machine is HORRIBLE around power lines. My GTA goes crazy too, but nothing nearly as bad as hers. Hers is simply not useable at all around them. I can still use mine near lines, I just limit it to 1" or less, and dont spend too long searching them.

No it's not even close to the T2...They are Apples and Oranges in difference. The T2 will kick almost every machines rearend out there!
The T2 is only for the serious hunters that will take the time to really learn the language it speaks.

No don't be mislead by my bragging on the the BH3300. I thinks it's a great detector for the price...I pay around 100- 145 for the three I bought, I've paid more for pinpointers okay!

What I'm saying is it's a good machine.

The T2...I've never posted my full reviews on it yet cause really I'm stil learning it, I've only scratched the surface of what that T2 will do. And I've found silver dimes at 10" inches under heavy iron! The bounty hunter goes nuts in heavey iron laden sites, it doesn't have a chance with any coil I have for it!

When the new coil for the T2 comes out I'll post a review then. I have a feeling that the T2 will be making news very soon!

Gosh KCK... Now I'm getting confused. Didn't you say in your origial post in this tread that "I love my GTI2500 most of all." ?

My current interest is in fee-coin hunts. Where tokens and coins are
shallow. I have no need to find a silver dime at 10-inches under heavy iron. The tokens and coins are shallow, maybe about one or two inches. I bought a 250 for this, it seems to have plenty of depth with 8- sensitivity settings; not needed for shallow targets. So great
depth is not important to me.

I'm glad you brought up the Bounty Hunter 3300. I have never used one;
but several posters in this forum have given their experiences with it. However, I will stick to the 250.

I have used the 250 in several fee-hunts. I found that in a crowded field some of the other machines "walked over the 250." Then I found out there was a frequency shift available for the 250. So this seems to "save the day."

The 250 seems to have a fast recovery. The standard coil is a concentrically wound elliptical, approximately 6.5x9-inch. It has two accessory searchcoils which I do not have. It is simple to use. Exact pinpointing is not critical, I use a scratcher; fast and easy.

is my findings:

As I have been reading about the BH3300 I stopped by the local
Radio Shack. I was willing to buy one at the discount price. The salesman went in the backroom and came out with one already set up.
It was the only 3300; but he had other models.

No box, no manual, no warranty card. I was informed that the BH3300
was made for Radio Shack and only had a 90 day warranty. If there
was a problem before the time was up, Radio Shack would repair it.
It was not under any warranty from the folks at First Texas.

I decided to pass it up. Evidentally it was a floor model.
