Have a XLT Spectrum any suggestions on how to best set up for relics.

I have a White XLT Spectrum but have had very limited success using it. Can it be made to CW relic hunt with any depth. It is still equipped with original coil. It does well on coins but not much depth. I would say maybe 6 inches. It doesn't like bullets.

N.C.Jim,

In the past there were may internet sites listing programs for the XLT for about anything you could think of....prospecting, relic hunting, coins, julury.......you name it they had it !

There was also a few people who printed books with programs to.

Some people enjoyed hunting with the canned (factory) programs & some like to adjust it for their area + style of hunting.

My experience with the XLT was that I spent more time trying to get depth out of it, than I did digging anything deep. I did dig my first large cent at around eight inches, in soft loamy woods dirt. I think that is about the max you can expect no matter how hot you run the thing. Get a used Explorer, it will blow the xlt away on depth.
