always use the CZ20 in saltwater. Have a friend that wants to borrow the Stingray II for use under(scuba diving) the water, in saltwater. I've just never taken mine under in salt, anybody tried this, I'm concerned he'll get falsing. I know at waters edge, waves breaking, things are noisy.

Any info appreciated.

I have an upgraded Stingray. You can always use it in the TR mode and blnak out the salt with the sensitivity or discrimination button, can't remember which one, but you can read it up in the manual. I read somewhere, that someone has used the SRII in Fla. and it works just fine in VLF motion without any problems. Just let him borrow it and see how it works out. Good luck and let us know how it went.

If you dive with the Stingray II, be sure the O-ring is clean and lubed with Silicone lube. First time I got under 12 feet, mine stopped working and after opening it up water poured out. This was when they first came out so maybe the O ring is different. The Tiger Shark is fine for diving, but I mainly use the CZ20 or Excal.
