I found a eagle button that is small and it has a shank. The eagle is holding a shield and there is a letter A on the shield. Also on the inside of the button it says United States. I think it is made out of brass. Can anyone tell me what it is and how old it is. Thanks, HH
 
Stan is on this one. Could be cuff size or coat; depending upon the diameter. Pic would say it all. Either a one or two piece button. Nice find, David @ Dixie
