My son may be coming to Va. beach for a weekend. He said someone told him that it isn't real safe there especially at night. For those of you who live there, what do you say about that.Or is there a particular area that isn't as safe as another area. Be truthful so I can tell him what to expect. Thanks
 
Every city has parts that are not safe for anyone. If he sticks to the main areas of the city, shopping districts and the other tourist areas he'll be OK. Most of the areas that are bad, he'd have no reason to be in and he would be able to look around and figure out he should not be there but they are few and far between.
