Have a Prizm 4 question...

Hey guys, I have found a really good deal on a Prizm IV, but don't know much about them. I have several detectors, and don't really need another one.... but who can pass up a good deal!? (good deal being $150, new) I haven't heard that much about the Prizm, but it looks like a beginner's style unit, so I guess I could use it as a loaner unit when friends want to go beeping with me. Opinions?
Thanks!
Darren

You may already know this but the Prizm 4 was replaced last year with the Coinmaster. I'm not up on all of the changes made, but one change is the newer spyder coil. Retail is $179.95, so with a little looking around, you might come very close to the $150 for the newest model.

Larry, THANK YOU for the info. I got your post on my way to pick up the detector. I had found it on craigslist, and the guy had the receipt showing where he paid $379 for the unit. I don't know if he just got screwed on it, or if he was just trying to screw someone else. Whatever the case, I'm going to pass on it now. I sure am glad you guys are around to offer up good info!
Thanks again!!

I might have given some bad advise, after doing some checking, I think the Coinmaster replaced the Prizm 3, SORRY. I will have to see what the difference is and $150 might be a good price after all.

I have tried to do research on the prizm 4, and can't find anything other than a few reviews on it. Let me know if you come up with anything!
Thanks again for your help.

My bad, I think the Prizm 4 is like the newer yet Coinmaster Pro, $279.95. I too can't seem to find a lot of info on the old Prizm line either. It seems to have been two Prizm 4, the older one had the standard coil with the hole in the middle and then latter, a Prizm 4 Spyder.

Monte??? Help

I had a Prizm IV for a while. Basically a good little unit with decent depth. The only thing I could fault it for was a little slow on the retune and battery life wasn't quite as good as I might have expected.
