Have a few question on the deeptech Vista

Just got my used deeptech today and the owners manual is different than my machine I Have. Mine is the same, but has 2 toggle switches on the bottom , one on the right side and one on left side. The battery is under arm rest and not in the control box The toggle switch on the right side I understand from what I have read with the toggle pulled back in a single tone and used for all metal to use in Ground Balance an and single tone. Push it forward and you get 2 tone for when you use disc. Not sure what the one on left side does, tried everything and dont seem to make a different on reponse one way or another. Even on disc everything give a signal, did notice a little difference in the 2 tone with the disc maxed out and the sensitivity turn all the way counterclockwise as it has the same tone on on iron nail and bolts when it is not close to the coil, but when about 2 or 3 inches the tone is the same and seems to read any metal the same as all metal or the 2 tone mode, the toggle switch on the left side dont seem to make any difference on it and wonder what this toggle switch is for.
I got to check out my ground balance as I am used to hearing a threshold when ground balancing to tell which way to adjust it, but doing air test nothing makes a difference.
Like I say I been detecting since 1973 and this detector is different and asking question I never seen before, or don't remember seeing.

Both Toggles do the exact same thing on the Vista X, never could figure out why Deep Tech didn't just use one toggle and install it coming out the center of the shaft just beyond the control box like another defunct company did, but they did not, I always catch myself looking down there to see where the toggle switches are located

i have not used my Vista X in a while but make sure you have the left side in the middle position if you are using the right side as your main switch you use, and vice a versa if you use the left switch as your main switch again both switches serve the same purpose, I guess they just thought they would do a left and right switch so it would make it easy for which ever hand you are swinging with but for me it is kind of cumbersome and awkward because of where they placed those switches.

from what I can tell this is not the pro one and is the Vista X. it does have 2 toggle switches on the downside of the control box, but the coil is not oxcegon like the picture shows it is more oval looking. The toggle switches are only 2 position and not 3, so there is no center position.
I went to the site mentioned and have ordered the owner manual so I hope it will help to understand it. I did find a field test one the Vista X by Adrian Gayler and going to try and read it when I get time.

Any ways I got to thank those that have responded to my questions and look for more info.

On my Vista X both toggles will stay in the back position when pulled back but I think they spring back if you push either one forward that's why I stated to make sure one or the other is in the middle position when using one of the toggles, I have not used my Vista X in a while, just checked my Vista X and what I stated is the way mine is, when you push either toggle forward towards the coil that is alternate disc you have to hold the toggle there because when you release the toggle in the forward position it will spring back to center, but when you pull the toggle towards you that is (All Metal), it will stay there until you push it back to center

There must be different models of the Vista as the 2 toggle switches click into forward and backwards and stay there , they are a 2 pole switch and like you mention it could be they do the same thing and depends on which hand you swing with as to which one you use.

I have the vista smart plus the toggle on left when pushed forward is a 30% boost . On right if forward two tone back is all metal . I put a small rubber band to keep it in two tone when you are in the woods it so easy for it to get pushed back . You end up digging nails thinking it’s in two tone.

i find it strange that your Vista X those two toggles lock in the forward position and the back position
as I said in my earlier reply to your thread mine also has two toggles and both perform the same task but on my Vista X it locks when you pull the toggle back towards you and when you push them forward (Towards the Coil) you have to hold the toggle in place because the minute you release the toggles they spring back to the center position forward (Towards Coil) is Alternate disc and back (Towards you) is All Metal
it locks in all metal position and springs back in Alternate Disc has to be held in the Alternate Disc position I personally consider the two Toggle switches to be 3 way switches
 
May not be an X. If it is it will have the red colored X across the front face with 7 knobs.

the OP has never really stated which Vista they have, just that it has two toggles, not really sure if deep tech had another Vista that had two toggles other than the Vista X so yep it could be a completely different Vista
