This may have been discussed previously and I apologize if it has.. I have had a couple of times that I would swing over a "target" (factory coin mode) and just get a high tone, no numbers, nothing on the display, just a high tone. I didn't pay any attention to one of these but I decided to dig the next one to see what was there. It was a wheatie. Any idea of what is going on?
Have I missed a post on the forum about this ? Has this happened to anyone else? Too, the audio was soft, hit wasn't hard at all like a normal target would be.. Richard

I think there could be many valid reasons for what you experienced. Yes, I have had that happen to me, but usually at the extreme limit of the depth meter. In you case, you could have had a discriminated target close by that was blanking the screen but allowing the audio to pass. The coin could also have been on edge, not allowing a strong return.........

Next time go to P2, open screen and see what you get then........... Targets are hard to hide in no discrimination mode....

Good luck Richard.

I have seen it too... I got to where I haven't been looking at the screen as much... dug a few coins that way... especially if it didn't sound huge and when I raised the coil a few inches it disappeared...and was always next to a piece of iron or rusty trash..

I need to look and find the page in the manual that warns that you may get a audible but no TID in certain situations,,,,, I wanna say ground/coin but not sure..... it's in the book

i have had that happen too.. once i pin point it it move the coil off to the side for a few seconds and then the number comes up and i have a better idea what it is... i don't know why that happens but sometimes it just takes a while for the numbers to appear...
