General Rules

The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Rules for Non Sponsoring Sellers:

  • Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
  • Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
  • Do not put links to eBay.
  • Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
  • Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

Advertisements not adhering to the above rules will be deleted without warning or notification.

Fresh out of the box !!
Ordered from Kellyco and gave them a call, they said I had to send it back
to Tesoro that they can't do anything about it !!
What happened to their 100% customer satisfaction and the paper that is on
kellyco letterhead stating that if defective simple call and get a RMA # and they'll
sent you a replacement !
This is the,third high end detector I've purchased from them ~ now the first issue
I have and they can't help .
WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING ELSE FROM THEM !!!!!!!!!!!
 
Oh Boy... I have one coming and is supposed to be here today... hope mine doesn't look like that when I open the box!!!!
Didn't order mine from Kellyco.
 
I am holding my tongue on this one, maybe they will come good if not I am sure the good folks at Tesoro will take care of you.
 
Thats terrible...Did it ship from Tesoro or kellyco? If kellyco sent it they should get it back... Looks like it got used as a bat
 
Kellyco should have stepped-up on this one. Not a good way to maintain return customers .. :thumbdown:
 
NO DEALER SHOULD HANDLE THIS SITUATION IN THIS MANNER. A replacement should have been in the mail to you (same day) and the return postage for the damaged unit should be prepaid.

I have always heard good things about Tesoro so I think this must be a Kellyco policy? Obviously, the Kellyco customer satisfaction guarantee is not sincere.

I believe there are many reputable dealer/sponsors on this forum that would have handled this differently than Kellyco chose to. Thank you GeorgiaSwinger for letting me know!
 
If the box was not damaged, then it was not rough shipping maybe. it looks like someone overtightened the screws OR excessive heat/expansion caused that maybe? anyway NOT GOOD and i was going to order something but now have second thoughts about the big box store. they need to start spreading some efforts in Florida on the MD laws that will come back up, or they will be in a state with little or no place for one. Tesoro will do what they can i am sure. AND WHY DID JACK GIFFORD NOT USE THE BIG BOX STORE?
 
Was there any damage to the box?
Almost looks like a manufacturing error?
Screws over tightened?
Drill plunge too fast?
Literally drop shipped from a FEDEX plane?
Something smells fishy...hmmm...:unsure:
 
shippng box was not damaged, packing could have been a little better but still no damage in shipping from FedEx
Called Tesoro this afternoon, talked to the nicest lady, she said ship it to us we'll take care of it.
She actually laughed when I ask what happened to the Kellyco 100 % customer satisfaction !

All will work out fine I'm sure. But did learn a good lesson with the big box stores !!
Will only deal with forum sponsors from here out !!
 
I am not a dealer of any kind just a dumb ole farmer but something I just can't figure out is why wouldn't the dealer selling an item (Kellyco in this case) give you a call or an email or whatever and say "I am sorry Mr. GeorgiaSwinger " here's a return slip for you to send back the detector & when it gets here we'll send you out a replacement. If that was the case you would be on here bragging up their business, but now you will no longer ever buy anything from them again and neither will some others after reading the experience you had with them. To me it is almost like stepping over a dollar to pick up a dime but like I said what do I know.
 
Sad part of it is that Kellyco IS a forum sponsor---and yes, they should have taken care of it for you, I'm sure any of our other forum sponsors would have.-----In all fairness to Kellyco, they replaced a detector for me once that was damaged when I received it----but, what happened to that policy?? quote=GeorgiaSwinger

I've actually had my Sand Shark fall over on a paved parking lot after I leaned it against the car. When I picked it up I expected to see something like in the picture ... but not a scratch was apparent. I've had it in the water several times since then and no leaks. Guess I was lucky.

Glad to hear that Tesoro is doing what they always have, stand behind their products.

It is also possible that the agreement between Kellyco and Tesoro is to send things to Tesoro ... but that is just pure speculation on my part. If no one on either end actually says that, then we just don't know.
 
I'm slightly mad at them because their order form rejects my $5 coupon whenever I try to use it. I complained on their website and never heard back from them. It's not enough to turn me off completely, but it tells me that someone somewhere along the line just doesn't care. Little things like that add up.
 
back in the 70's i bought a lot of detectors from Kellyco.but i learned long ago what kind of dealer they were..i havent bought from them in over 20 years and wont ever again. Tesoro is good and will take care of it....but Kellyco should have ! live and learn dont we?
 
If the BIG BOX BOYS keep treating everyone this way their big box won't be so big !!
I'm done with them .. next time I get ready to buy ~ I'll do much more research and buy from the independent smaller guys that care about their customers !!
The lady I talked with Friday at Tesoro was GREAT !! NO PROBLEMS !!!!!!!
Just wish I could remember her name to give credit where credit is due !!

Most of the times that I have called Tesoro a lady answered the phone, I don't know her name but I call her the nice lady.
