Has anyone with a older 2500 tried the new coil on it ?

That would be the proformance coil 9.5 . I emailed Mary at Garrett and she said they would like to see my detector to try the new coil on it to make sure it didn't overload when placing it on the ground.If it did they would have to put the new chip set in it. I didn't get the new coil yet . Should I send the detector in first or get the coil and see what happens ?

If it's the black 9.5" one, I tried it on my old GTI1500. It is much more stable at higher sensitivity. I liked it a lot over the old white design. And, it came standard with the GTI2500 I got last year.

I would send it in because more than likely they will put the new chip in it.
