Has anyone used the hip mount on the DFX

I use the DFX on the beach and was thinking about getting the hip mount kit from Whites to reduce stress on arm anyone have any thoughts on the ideal.

maybe go with the swingy thingy...it seemed when I spoke with whites they discouraged me from getting one! Not sure but it maybe a forum sponsor here that sells them...Doc...

They said it was bulky...also would separate pinpoint ability when finding an item...also hard to hold the separated rod in one hand, pinpoint with other and hold a digger ...

I used one on the wide body Spectrum..I found it very easy and comfortable just swinging the rod and coil..Could detect all day..Like Greg says if you probe it might be a little trouble but I do not use a probe..so it worked great...See no reason it would't be near the same on a DFX.....DFX body is just a little smaller.

I think most of the weight is in the coil not the box. If anything, the box I believe helps with the balance.

years ago i hooked a shoulder strap up to my detector and it worked great.i made a new extention and handle and arm cuff.im thinking of doing the same with my mxt.it worked well for me.

We have a "factory built" MXT hipmount. Wife uses it on the beach with NO issues...It makes the coil/rod light enough for her to handle with her bad neck. She wears a 3" wide belt to suspend it...A 1" wide web strap angled across her chest, around her neck & back to the unit.

Left hand works the trigger for pinpointing...right hand swings, digs & recovers target.

Course, she's used hipmounts...since the old Red Baron RB-7 days.
