has anyone used the big foot coils?

Yes. Can be one of the most productive coils. Its certainly the only one that I paid for in a week with extra finds.

Pinpoints in the middle but works great. I have used mine one time so far and was impressed. Great for large relatively clear areas like baseball outfields. Havn't tried it in the trash yet and probably wouldn't unless just as a test.

Easier and quicker to pinpoint with the tip rather than use the centre null.
Will work in higher trash areas than you would think as it has so narrow a detection field in length which allows you to wriggle it in.
Works well under power lines that cause trouble with some other coils.
Absolute value setting allows full or half length of the coil to be used.
Supposed to be a degree of inbuilt ground reject. This may be right or it might just be down to the narrow width picking up less ground effect.
Use as is on the beach to cover the area from end to end for the days losses whilst your friends only manage a quarter of the area. On land cover huge areas to locate hot spots then swap to your normal coil to clear then out.
Light in weight. Reliable. Its worth getting both upper and lower shafts and have the cord taped on then you can swap coils at the control box in two minutes flat.
