i ordered a compadre i intend to put my cleansweep from my cutlass umax on it, i dont care about the warranty, my cutlass is doing good i dont know if it will be better then compadre, any one try it yet? i will also add a sensitivity pot, thanks to all the guys that put mod on line so i can do it. the way i see it 160.00 is peanuts i dont care about losing my warranty on the compadre i spend more money on tollet paper each year.

thanks to all you who answered my add about the cleansweep

If you have a Cutlass uMax then basically it's a Compadre with a sens pot on it. The Cutlass uMax runs at 12 khz same as the Compadre. So I think it would be about the same. If you had a Silver or a different Cutlass then
you might see an improvement using the Compadre.I myself having owned a Cutlass uMax would use it with the clean sweep coil. That's my 2 cents. HH

thanks digerdan

so you think that this talk about the compadre having 180 something or other dosent make a diferance? is the compadre faster in target detection?

thanks

Why?

Curiosity gets to me when someone posts that they decided to order a model that is less-featured than what they use, so I get curious as to 'why?'

The Compadre doesn't come with a coil connector so do you also plan to install a connector on your Compadre? Also, what use do you have for the Compadre and why the Clean Sweep coil on that lowest-end model?

Yes.

At least I can say 'Yes' I have worked with those two and most other Tesoro models, some with the Clean Sweep coil and some modified to accept various search coils.

If your Cutlass

i will put a conecter on it, and i use it to hunt school play feilds, from what i read all the other tesoro detectors give you more deph and i dont want to dig deep anyway im happy to find coins. and my cutlass is old so i think a newer one would be better.
